The group is now led by a dedicated staff and hundreds of volunteers who strive to provide the Pensacola community with entertainment and education through volunteering, outreach, classes, and performances. Classes will be held on November 16th and 17th from 6:00 - 6:45 a.m. The abandoned city landmark was transformed into what is now the Pensacola Cultural Center and the group christened its new home with a production of “The Wizard of Oz” in 1996. The group is now located in the old Escambia County Court of Records Building and Jail. Auditions are held annually in August, and if accepted, the student may register for this class for the remainder of their high school career.

Founded in 2015 the PLT Academy is a capstone acting, improv, and video production company for hard-working teens who are serious about theatre. Early performances were held in the old Chamber of Commerce auditorium, and then eventually moved to Pensacola High School. Since their founding in 1936, they have performed at many locations throughout Pensacola. Staying true to the true nature of a community theatre troupe, they have held their performances all over the city. The group has been entertaining the Pensacola community for more than 80 years.
